AI Shifts allow Substy's AI to automatically handle fan conversations for your creators without requiring human employees. This is perfect for overnight coverage, weekends, or scaling your operation.


What Are AI Shifts?

When you create an AI shift, Substy's AI chatbot takes over conversations for the selected creator(s) during the scheduled time period. The AI will:

  • Respond to fan messages automatically

  • Follow your configured scripts and PPV sequences

  • Maintain conversation context and personality

  • Send PPVs and handle sales conversations


Creating an AI Shift

There are two ways to create an AI shift:

Option 1: Quick AI Assignment

  1. Click the + button on any day cell in the schedule calendar.

  2. Select "Complete all the shift with AI".

  3. The AI will be assigned to cover that entire day for the creator.

Option 2: Full Schedule Creation

  1. Click + Add Schedule or click the + button and select "Create Employee shift".

  2. In Step 1 (Type & Assignment), change the Schedule Type dropdown from "Employee" to "AI".

  3. Select the Creator(s) you want AI to manage.

  4. Configure recurrence and dates as normal.

  5. Click Create Schedule.


When to Use AI Shifts

AI shifts are ideal for:

  • After-hours coverage: Keep conversations going when your team is offline

  • Weekend coverage: Maintain engagement without weekend staffing

  • Scaling operations: Handle more creators without hiring more staff

  • Backup coverage: Fill gaps when employees are unavailable


AI Shift Requirements

For AI shifts to work effectively, make sure you have:

  • Configured AI chatting settings for the creator

  • Created scripts and PPVs for the AI to use

  • Set up the creator's persona and conversation style
