AI PPV Captions let the AI automatically write your PPV message text during live conversations, instead of sending the same static message to every fan. When enabled on a template, Substy's AI generates a unique, personalized caption for each fan based on the media you're sending, the conversation history, and the creator's voice and personality settings.
This means every fan receives a message that feels natural and tailored to them — no more copy-paste captions that sound generic.
Pro plan or above — AI PPV Captions is a Pro feature. If you're on a lower plan, the toggle will be locked.
At least one media file attached — The AI needs media context to generate relevant captions. The toggle is disabled until you add media to the template.
Go to Tools > Scripts and open the script you want to edit.
Click on a template (PPV step) to open the template sidebar.
Add at least one media file to the template if you haven't already.
In the Message section, find the AI Mode toggle on the right side.
Switch it on. The message text area will be replaced with a purple panel showing "AI-Powered Captions".
Save the template. You're done — the AI will now generate captions automatically during conversations.
When AI Mode is enabled, the AI copywriter considers several factors to craft each message:
Media content — The description and type of media attached to the template (video, photo, etc.).
Conversation context — What the fan and creator have been talking about, so the caption flows naturally in the conversation.
Creator voice — Your AI persona, voice preset, and emoji preferences are used to match the creator's style.
Fan data — Information the AI has learned about the fan from previous conversations, including their name and preferences.
PPV position — Whether this is the first, middle, or last PPV in the script, so the tone and urgency are appropriate.
You can choose between two approaches for each template:
AI Mode ON — No message text needed. The AI writes a unique caption for every fan in every conversation. Best for maximizing personalization and conversion.
AI Mode OFF — You write your own static message. You can use variables like {fan.name} to personalize. Best when you want full control over the exact wording.
You can mix and match within the same script — some templates with AI Mode on and others with manual messages.
If you remove all media from a template, AI Mode will automatically turn off since the AI needs media context to generate captions.
AI-generated captions are created in real time during conversations — they are not pre-generated or stored.
The AI respects all your existing settings including banned keywords, platform guidelines, and creator information.
Templates with AI Mode enabled are marked with an AI badge in the script list and template cards for easy identification.
