When a fan purchases any of your paid content (PPV, locked posts, etc.), you'll receive an instant Telegram notification with the fan's name, a direct link to the conversation, and any custom note you want to include.
Go to Tools > Automation > Create automation in your Substy dashboard.
In the Trigger section, select "Fan purchased a media" from the dropdown. This triggers every time a fan unlocks or purchases any paid content from you.
You can leave the audience settings at their defaults to notify on all purchases, or refine it by including a specific list (e.g., "VIP Fans"), excluding lists, or using filters like "Total Spend" to only notify on purchases from high-value fans. For most use cases, leave audience settings neutral.
Choose "Send every time the fan matches the trigger" to receive a notification for every purchase. If you only want to be notified on a fan's first purchase, select "Send once per fan" instead.
Scroll down to the Actions section and toggle on "Notify employee on Telegram". Select recipients and add an optional additional note. Use the quick-insert buttons to include dynamic info: + Price (the purchase amount), + Conversation URL, + Fan Name.
You can combine Telegram notifications with other actions: Send a message (automatically thank the fan for their purchase) or Add fan to a list (track buyers in a "Purchased Content" segment).
Click Create automation to save. You'll now receive Telegram pings for every media purchase!
Track high spenders: Create a separate automation with a "Total Spend > $100" filter for VIP purchase alerts.
Build buyer segments: Use "Add fan to a list" to create a segment of content buyers for future promotions.
