When you disable AI for a specific fan, the AI assistant completely stops responding to that fan's messages. The conversation stays visible in your inbox, and your team can still send manual messages — the AI simply won't generate any replies.
This is useful when:
A fan requires human-only attention (e.g., sensitive situations, VIP handling).
You want to temporarily pause AI for a specific conversation.
The AI's responses aren't appropriate for a particular fan.
1. Go to the Messages tab.
2. Select the fan's conversation.
3. In the chat header, click the dropdown menu (three dots).
4. Click Disable AI (shown with a sparkles icon).
You'll see a confirmation toast: AI assistant has been disabled for this fan. The toggle updates instantly — no page refresh needed.
Follow the same steps above. The button will now show Enable AI instead. Click it to turn the AI back on for that fan.
The fan's conversation history is preserved.
Fan notes, memory, and profile data remain intact.
Your team can still send messages manually.
The fan still appears in lists, segments, and automations.
Hybrid Mode spend limits — If a fan reaches the configured AI spend limit, AI is automatically turned off for that fan.
Automation rules — An automation with the Stop AI action can disable AI for matching fans when triggered.
