Scripts in Substy can operate in different modes depending on how you want them to be used. Whether you rely on full AI automation or have employees manually chatting with fans, choosing the right mode ensures your scripts work the way you intend.
When a script is set to AI mode, the AI chatbot automatically selects and sends the script based on the conversation flow. The AI decides when the timing is right, picks the most appropriate script from the available pool using script rotation, and handles the entire content delivery and negotiation process without any manual intervention.
AI mode is ideal when you want a fully hands-off approach to PPV sales. The AI reads the conversation context, matches the fan's mood and engagement level, and selects the best script to maximize conversion.
Scripts in Manual mode are designed for use by your team when they are chatting with fans directly. These scripts appear in the employee's script library and can be triggered manually during a conversation.
Manual mode is useful when you have trained chatters who want to control when and how scripts are sent, or for high-value fans that benefit from a personal touch.
Scripts with Custom mode enabled allow you to define custom delay timings between templates. This gives you precise control over the pacing of content delivery, regardless of whether the script is used by the AI or manually.
To ensure scripts provide meaningful revenue, Substy enforces minimum total price requirements depending on your operating mode.
Scripts used in Full AI mode must have a total price of at least $45. The total price is calculated by adding up the prices of all templates in the script. Scripts that fall below this threshold are automatically filtered out of the AI's rotation and will not be sent.
In Hybrid mode (where both AI and employees handle conversations), the minimum total price requirement is lower at $20. This allows for lighter scripts that employees can supplement with personal interaction.
Only templates with a price greater than $0 count toward the minimum requirement. Free templates (price = $0) are not included in the total price calculation. Make sure your paid templates add up to meet the threshold for your operating mode.
Beyond pricing requirements, a script must meet one additional condition to be considered usable by the system:
The script must have at least one template with media attached. A script containing only text templates without any media files will not appear in the available script pool.
Substy allows you to duplicate scripts to save time when building your content library. There are two types of duplication:
You can duplicate a script within the same creator account. This creates an exact copy of the script, including all templates, pricing, and media attachments. It is useful when you want to create a variation of an existing script with minor adjustments to pricing or content order.
You can also duplicate scripts across different creator accounts within the same agency. This is especially helpful when managing multiple creators who share similar content strategies.
Important: When duplicating across creators, the script structure and pricing are copied, but media files are not transferred. You will need to re-attach media to each template in the duplicated script. This is because media files are tied to individual creator vaults and cannot be shared between accounts.
When a fan has been sent every available script in a creator's library, the system triggers script exhaustion. Here is what happens:
A SCRIPT_EXHAUSTED notification is sent to alert you that all scripts have been used for that fan.
A 7-day notification cooldown begins after each exhaustion alert. This cooldown only applies to notifications — it does not affect when scripts can be reused or recycled.
After the 7-day notification cooldown expires, if the fan is still exhausted, you will receive one more notification as a reminder.
During script exhaustion, the AI simply has no new PPV content left to send to that fan. To resolve this, add new scripts to your library.
The AI automatically syncs each fan's purchase history from the platform before starting a new conversation cycle. This means:
The AI knows exactly which PPVs a fan has already purchased.
It will never re-send media that a fan has already bought and unlocked.
Only unsent or unpurchased content from your script library is offered.
Scripts can be restricted to specific time windows, allowing you to control when they are eligible to be sent. Time windows are useful for matching content to the time of day, aligning with peak engagement hours, and ensuring content is sent when fans are most likely to be active and purchasing.
Choosing the right script mode, meeting minimum price thresholds, and using duplication effectively are key to building a productive content operation. Keep your script library fresh to avoid exhaustion, and use time windows to align your content delivery with peak fan activity.
